TractIQ AI Connector (MCP): Setup & Getting Started

TractIQ Connector (MCP): Setup & Getting Started

Overview

The TractIQ Connector lets you connect TractIQ directly to your AI tool of choice: Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or any other MCP-compatible platform. Once it's connected, you can ask your AI to pull facility data, market data, run comp analyses, build out deal models, upload your underwriting or any other templates, and more, all using natural language.

The AI Connector is only available for users on Pro, Pro+, an MAX subscriptions of TractIQ. Depending on the subscription tier, the daily number of AI calls will be different. For information on daily usage limits, see below:

Pro: 25 AI calls per user per day

Pro+: 50 AI calls per user per day

MAX: 500 AI callers per user per day

This article walks you through how to get connected and gives you a few ideas to get started. After you've successfully connected your AI tool to TractIQ's MCP - head over to our AI Connector Workflows, Prompts, and Use Cases article to learn about some ideas to get started with building models, asking it questions, and accomplishing common tasks.

Before You Begin

You'll need your TractIQ account credentials and access to your AI tool's connector or custom app settings. The setup only takes a couple of minutes.

Your MCP Server URL:

https://app.tractiq.com/mcp

Heads up — this URL is not clickable. You'll need to copy and paste it manually into your AI tool's connector setup. The setup videos below show exactly where it goes.

Setting Up in Claude (Personal Account)

Free, Pro, or Max Plans
  1. Go to Settings → Connectors and click Add Custom Connector
  2. Name it — "TractIQ" works great
  3. Paste in the MCP server URL: https://app.tractiq.com/mcp
  4. Click Add — you'll see a Connect button appear
  5. Click Connect and you'll be redirected to TractIQ to authorize
  6. Log in if prompted, click Authorize, and you're sent back to Claude
  7. Open a new chat — you're ready to go

If the connection doesn't go through on the first try, log out of TractIQ, log back in, then return to Claude and reconnect. That usually does it.

Setting Up in Claude (Team or Enterprise Account)

Step 1 — Owner setup (do this once for the org):

  1. Go to Organization Settings → Connectors
  2. Click Add Custom Connector
  3. Paste in the MCP server URL: https://app.tractiq.com/mcp
  4. Click Add

That makes the connector available to everyone in your org.

Step 2 — Each user connects individually:

  1. Find the TractIQ Connector in your Connectors list (look for the "Custom" label)
  2. Click Connect and authorize via TractIQ
  3. Once authorized, open a new chat and you're good to go

Note for Team/Enterprise users — each person authorizes with their own TractIQ credentials. This means Claude only accesses data that you personally have permission to see.

If the connection doesn't go through on the first try — log out of TractIQ, log back in, return to Claude, and reconnect. That usually does it.

Setting Up in ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT, go to Settings → Apps → Create App
  2. Name the app: "TractIQ Connector" works fine
  3. Paste in the same MCP server URL: https://app.tractiq.com/mcp
  4. Click Continue, then Create
  5. You'll be taken to the TractIQ authorization screen: click Authorize
  6. Once redirected back, you're connected

The process is similar in other MCP-compatible tools. If you're using a different AI platform and run into trouble, reach out to support@tractiq.com and we'll help you get sorted.

Setting Up in Microsoft Copilot Studio

MCP connector support in Microsoft's world lives in Copilot Studio, not the standard Microsoft 365 Copilot chat experience (Teams, Outlook, etc.). If your team uses Copilot Studio to build or manage AI agents, this is for you. If you're using everyday M365 Copilot, MCP connectors aren't currently supported there.

  1. Open Copilot Studio and navigate to the Tools page for your agent

  2. Click Add a tool → New tool → Model Context Protocol

  3. This launches the MCP onboarding wizard — paste in the server URL: https://app.tractiq.com/mcp

  4. Click Create

  5. You'll be taken to TractIQ to authorize — click Authorize

  6. Once redirected back, the TractIQ tools will be available as actions within your agent

Generative orchestration must be enabled in your Copilot Studio agent to invoke MCP tools. If TractIQ tools aren't firing, check that setting first.

Setting Up in Gemini

The consumer Gemini web app (gemini.google.com) does not support adding custom MCP connectors the way Claude and ChatGPT do. MCP integration in Google's ecosystem currently lives in Gemini Enterprise (via Google Cloud) or the Gemini CLI for developers. If you're using either of those, reach out to us at support@tractiq.com and we'll walk you through the connection. We'll update this section as Google expands MCP support to the Gemini web app.

Once You're Connected: Where to Start

The best way to get comfortable with the Connector is to just ask it what it can do. Literally, open a new chat and type something like:

"What can I do with the TractIQ Connector?"

Your AI will walk you through the available tools. From there, you're off to the races.

A few things worth trying:

  • Pull data on a deal you've already saved and ask for a full analysis
  • Ask it to build a comp rate table for facilities in a specific radius
  • Have it generate a demographic breakdown for a market you're evaluating
  • Ask it to compare all the deals in one of your saved lists
  • Upload any personal underwriting, LOI, and OM templates you currently use and ask it to refill all relevant fields and data points leveraging the data from TractIQ’s MCP

You don't need to be overly specific with your prompts. Natural language works well, just tell it what you want to know or build, and it'll figure out which tools to use. You can always get more precise as you go.

Pro tip: If you find a workflow you love, ask Claude to build a Skill for it. Skills save your preferred analysis style so it works the same way every time, without you having to re-explain it.
