Square Foot Per Capita Report

The Square Foot per Capita Report is your window into understanding future storage demand and supply in a market. It shows how much self storage space (in rentable square feet) is available relative to the population now; and projects what that ratio will look like in the future based on local growth.

 

You can access this data a few different ways:

Quick View: Opportunity Tab

Head to the Opportunity tab in your Insight Panel. You'll see:

  • Current and projected Square Foot per Capita

  • Census-based population growth

  • Housing development growth projections

  • Export option for a PDF snapshot you can share with stakeholders

Full Report: Download the Excel

For the full picture, download the raw data version. In the Reports dropdown, select Square Foot per Capita Report to get an Excel file with:

  • Population density and growth by selected radius or drive time parameters

  • Projected population based on Census + housing pipeline

  • Median income and household data

  • Storage facility count, % with climate control

  • Incoming storage developments

  • Net rentable square footage projections

  • Drive-up vs indoor breakdowns

At the bottom of the report, you'll get a full forecast of Square Foot per Capita by:
