Overview
If you're on a plan that includes API access, you can generate your TractIQ API key directly from your admin panel — no support ticket required. This article walks you through where to find it, how to generate it, and what to do if API access isn't included in your current plan.
Before You Begin
API key self-service is available on TractIQ Max and select higher-tier plans. If you're not sure whether your plan includes API access, the setup flow below will let you know — or you can reach out to our team at any time.
You'll need admin-level access to your TractIQ account to generate a key.
Generating Your API Key
- Log in to TractIQ and click your name in the top right corner of the app
- Select Manage Account from the dropdown
- Navigate to Settings & Subscriptions
- Scroll to the API Key section and click Get API Key
- Review the API agreement — this includes links to our API License, Data Feed Agreement, Terms of Service, and Privacy Policy. Worth a quick read if you haven't seen them before.
- Click Accept & Generate
- Your API key will appear on screen — copy it over and you're off and rolling
Treat your API key like a password. Anyone with the key can make requests against your TractIQ account, so don't share it or commit it to public repos.
Don't See the Option to Generate a Key?
If your current plan doesn't include API access, the API Key section will prompt you to get in touch with our team instead of showing the generate button.
