Commercial Construction Report
TractIQ’s Commercial Construction Report helps you analyze and understand commercial development activity within any trade area. This feature is especially valuable for prospecting, underwriting, and market analysis, giving you a clear picture of what’s being built in your selected geography.
Accessing Commercial Developments in the Map
The Commercial Developments layer is available to Pro Plan users. If you don’t yet have access, reach out to our team and we’ll get you set up.
- From the left-hand toolbar on your map, expand the Commercial Developments layer by clicking the eye icon.
- You’ll see project icons populate the map, coded by category.
- Categories include: Educational, Industrial, Financial, Hotel/Motel, Military, Office, Restaurant, Retail, and more.

- Click on any individual project pin to view details such as:
- Project name
- Stage of development (e.g., Conceptual, Final Planning, Under Construction)
- Project cost
- Last updated date
- Expanded project description
- Project name
Exporting the Commercial Construction Report
You can generate a Commercial Construction Report directly from the insight panel on the right side of the screen:
- Select a storage facility pin, drop a pin on the map, or select an address from your dashboard.
- Choose your desired trade area settings (e.g., 1, 3, and 5-mile radius, or custom drive times).
- Click Reports → Commercial Construction Report.
- Download the report.
What’s Included in the Report
The report provides a detailed view of all commercial projects within your selected trade areas, with key fields such as:
- Project Name & Description – details about the development.
- Project Cost – estimated or reported value of the project.
- Project Stage – e.g., Conceptual, Planning, Under Construction.
- Building Use – type of project (office, restaurant, convention center, etc.).
- Owner & Contact Information – where available.
- Last Updated Date – helpful for filtering to the most current updates.
- And more!
Pro Tips
- Use the Last Updated Date field to filter for the projects with the most recent updates.
- Combine Commercial Construction insights with other TractIQ layers (like housing starts or demographics) for a full market picture.
